Water damage can still be lurking even after you have cleared up the mess. It is extremely important to do an in-depth job of water damage repair to restore the area to its previous condition.

Before we even begin to start cleaning up, you need to make sure the source of the damage has been stopped. Make sure to shut off the water or in case of a flood make sure the flood waters have receded before the clean up begins.

The next thing to do is get the water out of your flooded home. Once all the water is removed you will need to dry out the space. Ventilate the room and bring in fans to help dry things out. Dehumidifiers need to be utilized to take out the remaining moisture.

Now onto water damage repairs. You will need to remove carpet and padding and drywall that was impacted by the water. If the moisture meter indicates water is still in the wood studs and flooring these items will need to be removed to prevent mold.

The space that experienced water damage needs to be completely free of any moisture before installing new floors and drywall.
