Air movers are fans that we use to dry out flooring and drywall and sometimes concrete too. SERVPRO has the drying process down to a science. We determine how wet a structure is and how many fans and dehumidifiers we need to dry it materials and structure in the fastest way possible.

A moisture meter is a tool that we use to determine how much moisture is in drywall or wood. There are two small pin-like prongs that we pierce the material with. The meter gives us a number that lets us know how wet drywall or wood is and if it's necessary to remove it.

There was a pipe burst in this pediatric office in Mt. Washington.  The pipe burst flooded over 2500 square feet of their office, affecting the drywall too! All the flooring in the entire office had to be removed.  Our crews worked on nights and weekends so we could get this business back to work!

Customer had mold in the crawl space. SERVPRO of Bullitt & N. North Nelson Counties removed and bagged the wet insulation, HEPA vacuumed the area, cleaned the mold from the joists,  subfloor, and block walls. Then we sprayed it with antimicrobial. We put up new insulation and sealed the area. We used a dehumidifier to dry out the crawlspace.

A customer called because water was leaking into her basement. We discovered the leak coming from this water pipe. We had to remove a small section of wet drywall. We used a dehumidifier and air movers to dry the area.

There was a windstorm in Shepherdsville that knocked over this huge mature tree. A tornado had been confirmed in nearby Mt. Washington on Hwy. 44 East the night that this happened. This house is located just outside of Mt. Washington. Fortunately, no one was hurt! SERVPRO of Bullitt & N. Nelson Counties arrived with a crew to first remove the tree so we could began tarping the roof to prevent further water damage to inside the house.

This is a photo from Hurricane Harvey in Texas. SERVPRO of Bullitt & N. Nelson Counties was invited down to help with the clean up efforts. Our crews worked from 7 am till late evening hours; sometimes till midnight removing wet furniture, carpet padding, carpet, tile, and other types of flooring. 

This customer had mold in the crawlspace. The cause of the mold in this situation was that a moisture barrier wasn't placed in the crawlspace. Mold loves moisture! We had to tear out old insulation, clean it, put new insulation back, and seal it with a proper moisture barrier.

A pipe had burst in this customer's home and leaked into the crawlspace. Our mold mitigation specialist discovered mold had gotten into the crawlspace. Black mold got onto the joists and onto the insulation.

A severe windstorm blew a tree on top of this roof causing major damage to the roof, gutters, soffit, siding, and porch on the outside of the structure. It also damaged the drywall inside the home that required repairs.

A severe wind storm had blown through Bullitt County causing a lot of wind damage to homes. This home is located in Shepherdsville. The wind and blown a big mature tree on this home. It causes structural damage to the roof and drywall and water damage from the rain.

We were called out to a business where the employees had suspected to have black mold. Our mitigation specialist thoroughly checked the premises and found black mold behind the wall and in the insulation. We tore out the insulation and the existing drywall and replaced it with new insulation and drywall.

We moved into our Mt. Washington office on the last week of February. We have come a long way with this office. It used to be an old motor cycle shop.

This customer's log rolled out of her fireplace in her home in Lebanon Junction, causing smoke damage to her home. We replaced the carpet, cleaned all the soot in this ranch style home, and painted the whole house.

Here is an apartment fire that was caused by a lit cigarette. The next photos will show the fire damage and then the after photos. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this fire!

One of the first things we do after a big fire is board up the structure. This is a safety and security measure to secure the premises from looters and trespassers.

This was a fire at an apartment complex in Bardstown. It started from a lit cigarette that caused the fire in the bedroom and had spread to the kitchen and several other nearby units.

Here's the soot from the fire. Fire damages aren't necessary caused by the flames itself but from the smoke, soot, and water damage from the firefighters extinguishing the fire.
